Role Summary Reporting to the Senior Manager of Commercial Learning & Development Programs, the Sr. Learning Experience Designer will design and develop learning experiences that drive product knowledge and skill changes for internal teams. The position shapes the employee learning experience at Rivian, delivering our mission to Keep the World Adventurous Forever. The role collaborates across the organization to deliver innovative scalable experiences that transcend traditional eLearning, ILT, and virtual learning courses. It requires stakeholder management, ruthless prioritization, strong project‑management skills, and continuous improvement of learning programs as they scale with our rapidly growing organization. The ideal candidate has deep expertise in adult‑learning principles, theories, concepts, and experience developing within learning technologies, and can deliver best‑in‑class experiences for our onboarding, employee development, and leadership development programs.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, implement, and maintain learner‑centric programs and content using effective instructional design methodologies and technologies.

Own the full cycle of blended learning solutions.

Design branded guides, logos, templates, executive‑style reports, and presentations to support Learning & Talent Development programs.

Organize and assist in developing learning manuals, pre‑work, and course evaluation procedures with multimedia visual aids and other educational materials.

Partner and consult with internal stakeholders and subject‑matter experts to establish the most effective way to solve a learning need.

Develop assessments and metrics to measure employee performance and program outcomes.

Create effective train‑the‑trainer programs and facilitator guides to grow and scale Learning & Development at Rivian.

Employ a learner‑centric mindset to drive the overall learner experience at Rivian.

Qualifications

5+ years of instructional design, graphic, and digital learning design experience supporting a corporate learning function.

Experience using industry‑standard learning methodologies (ADDIE, SAM, CRI, etc.) to design learning programs for various levels of employees and leaders.

Proficient with eLearning and video authoring software (Articulate Storyline, Rise, Camtasia, Adobe Captivate, etc.).

Proficient with publishing tools and software applications (Google Suite, iWork, Adobe Creative Suite, etc.).

Track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

Works well in virtually connected, fast‑paced, and oftentimes ambiguous environments.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Experience creating and editing video and media content (Camtasia, Final Cut Pro, or similar software) a plus.

Experience developing content for deployment in a learning management system.

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Instructional Design or Education is a plus.

Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for California‑based applicants: $107,800 – $146,500 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).

Benefits Summary Rivian provides robust medical/Rx, dental and vision insurance packages for full‑time and part‑time employees, their spouse or domestic partner, and children up to age 26. Full‑time employee coverage is effective on the first day of employment. Part‑time employee coverage is effective the first of the month following 90 days of employment.
