As a Senior Facility Designer/Architect, you'll provide project leadership and oversight to ensure consistency with H‑E‑B's brand and design standards that enhance H‑E‑B's Customer experience. You'll be responsible for the work of Architects and Designers assigned to your projects. We are looking for: Bachelor's degree in Architecture 7+ years of role relevant experience Architectural license preferred. What is the work? Leads the professional architectural guidance in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs. Liaises with managers, other architects, and consultants Participates in the conceptual site design process and provides full support throughout the entire project. Serves as a Subject Matter Expert on specialized systems, construction administration, and cost of construction. Develops and represents lead technical viewpoint on projects. Develops exterior and interior elevations that align to H‑E‑B design standards. Performs Construction Documents quality control reviews for projects they and others in their studio are responsible for. Coordinates with the director, managers, and the Group Vice President on appropriate technical solutions and product strategies. Leads the development team for complex, large footprint wall to wall remodels, expansions, or new buildings, that requires close collaboration, coordination, and design with internal and external Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and Refrigeration teams. Evaluates consultant add service and base proposals for adherence to scope, schedules and quality needed for the project. Provides issue resolution and direct negotiations with consultants. Responsible for specific technical design aspects of an assigned major project, including investigation, evaluation, and recommendation of design solutions that best meet business needs. Provides professional architectural guidance in the planning, design, and coordination of large complex projects. Independently applies advanced architectural concepts and designs

Background & Qualifications What is your background? Bachelor's degree in Architecture 7+ years of role relevant experience Architectural license preferred. Do you have what it takes to be a fit as an H‑E‑B Senior Facility Designer/ Architect? Relevant project experience Advanced knowledge of building systems and their coordination / integration (structural, architectural, MEPR); building codes, environmental regulations, accessibility codes and the direct application of such; dynamics / application of site and landscape design; sanitation concerns and apply; appropriate materials use and methods of construction; influence of specifications and criteria development. Advanced knowledge of the design and construction process to actively mitigate risks associated with working at a quicker pace or on complex projects. Actively manages the goals of each phase of design & construction, including generation of site construction observations, performing formal punch list walks, approves RFIs & submittals, and implements post occupancy walk best practices. Ability to manage projects from Real Estate hand-off to Grand Opening on a monthly basis with direct supervisions by others. Tracks project status, risks, and schedule changes through project management software. Surfaces workload risks and works with the Manager to prioritize projects and internal/external resources. Power user of Sketchup, REVIT, AutoCAD, 2-D and 3-D modeling and visualization, Bluebeam, and the MS Office suite of products. Strong verbal / written / graphic / process / PowerPoint presentation communication skills
