Responsibilities
Operates emergency and non‑emergency communication systems; receives requests for service by telephone; obtains and relays necessary information efficiently and accurately; gives callers direction and instruction as necessary.
Monitor all security alarm systems to include: fire alarm, generator alarms, medical gas alarms, door alarms and trauma pager.
Operate numerous highly technical computer systems including the Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD).
Maintain records of all service requests, emergency calls and priority alarms.
Monitors the public safety video system throughout the system.
Work Experience
At least 2 years related experience (i.e. Customer service, healthcare, hospitality, security, law enforcement or military required)
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Must obtain one of the following certificates: Public Safety Telecommunicator through TX A&M Engineering Ext Service or Basic Telecommunications Certificate through North Central Texas Emergency Communications (NCT9-1-1), both meet TCOLE requirements. Effective 11/13/2020 new employees must obtain TCOLE certificate within 60 days of hire. (Existing employees must obtain TCOLE certificate by 1/1/2021.) required.
Licenses and Certifications
Valid, current Texas Department of Public Safety Driver's License required.
Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers as required by CP 1.20 Life Support Course Requirements 60 Days, required.
