We work closely with our Federation partners and members to inspire, support and guide every level of the game, from the grassroots to the National Teams. Our mission is to bring soccer into every home and community across America, transforming lives and representing the best of the United States. Position Description
U.S. Soccer is seeking a storyteller to join the Federation’s Editorial team, telling the story of soccer in all its forms across the sports landscape. This role will produce, write and edit high‑quality articles that resonate with fans and serve our members. The Coordinator, Digital Content will manage publishing and digital platforms, including posting press releases, updating copy on landing pages or microsites, and ensuring meta data is optimized for search. The role will also coordinate with the Video Team, curate content across web, app and DTC platforms, manage ad inventory in collaboration with Partnership Marketing and Content Planning, and travel to team events, camps and games as required. Primary Responsibilities
Write, edit, and publish engaging articles, including match previews, player features, news updates, and more for U.S. Soccer’s website and app. Ensure content maintains a high level of accuracy, quality, and engagement within tight deadlines. Identify storylines and narratives across all 27 National Teams, the Open Cup, and other Federation initiatives, aligning with mission and brand objectives. Curate content on landing pages and digital touchpoints across the website, app, and D2C platform. Update static pages and microsites as needed, including team and player pages with latest stats. Manage digital ad inventory in collaboration with Partnership Marketing, Content Planning and other internal teams. Maintain in-depth knowledge of the U.S. Soccer landscape and emerging talent. Optimize meta data for digital content, including articles and videos, for search traffic. Collaborate with broader content team to support initiatives across different mediums. Ensure web content is SEO‑optimized to maximize web traffic and reach. Stay up to date with the latest digital and SEO trends. Travel to games and media or marketing events to interview players and staff for written content as needed. Minimum Qualifications
3+ years of experience in digital content creation, journalism, or media with a focus on sports (soccer experience preferred but not required). Strong understanding of AP Style. Experience writing and editing with an eye for detail. Proven ability to meet tight deadlines while maintaining quality across multiple projects. Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and ability to stay on top of trends and algorithm changes. Experience using content management systems and web analytics tools. Highly organized with the ability to balance short‑term deliverables and long‑term projects in concurrent workstreams. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook). Discretion required due to confidential information. Ability to connect micro‑details to macro vision and mission. Desired Qualifications
