Job Summary Participate in communications efforts designed to market a campus unit's products and/or services to target audiences. This position develops communications materials in the form of graphics, brochures, fact sheets, articles for publication, logo designs and/or websites. This position will interact on a consistent basis with: unit management and personnel, customers and vendors. This position typically will advise and counsel: NA. This position will supervise: NA.
Responsibilities
Conduct and utilize market research as necessary to recommend appropriate marketing communications strategies.
Develop content and oversee the design and production process for print collateral.
Consult with academic and/or administrative personnel to acquire the necessary information about the subject.
Confer with Institute Communications and Marketing to ensure that Institute graphic and style standards are followed in all material.
Obtain cost estimates, collaborate in the selection of illustrators and printers and approve their work, as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications Educational Requirements: Bachelor's Degree in Communications, Marketing, Journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Required Qualifications: This job requires exposure to higher than average noise levels, handling objects up to 100 pounds and standing/walking for extended periods of time.
Required Experience: Two to four years of job related experience.
Preferred Qualifications
2-4 years of professional experience in communications, marketing, or digital content creation.
Prior experience working in higher education, nonprofit, or mission-driven organizations.
Advanced proficiency in Slate CRM, including building forms, managing queries, and audience segmentation, as well as designing and scheduling email campaigns.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with emphasis on InDesign and Illustrator for creating digital and print marketing assets. Strong understanding of design principles and branding best practices.
