Amazon Live, part of Amazon Shopping Videos (ASV), is one of Amazon’s fastest‑growing strategic programs. We are a young group whose mission is to entertain and inspire Amazon customers through live video streaming as they shop, enabling them to learn more about products while connecting them with social influencers and content creators.
As a senior engineer on the Amazon Live Core Services team, you will develop a best‑in‑class video processing and content viewing experience across mobile and desktop. You will build and maintain critical live broadcast pipelines that power compelling customer‑experience features worldwide. This team owns and manages: 1) the AWS IVS‑backed video stack (backend), 2) video playback experiences (frontend), and 3) customer‑facing interactivity features such as Chat, Follow, Shop, etc., creating a full TikTok Live‑shopping experience. Your primary focus will be front‑end technologies (React, React‑Native) and integrations with our systems.

Key Job Responsibilities
- Build lovable, fluid customer experiences to delight customers to view videos and shop as they watch videos, working with a cross‑functional group of Engineers, UX + Product team, Marketing, and Applied Scientists.
- Lead a group of Engineers on complex front‑end projects that millions of Amazon Customers interact with every day.
- Leverage expertise in modern front‑end architecture patterns, state management, and component‑based design.
- Implement design systems and component libraries.
- Optimize performance for high‑frequency UI updates and complex state changes.
- Apply accessibility standards and internationalization best practices.
- Work on a wide breadth of technology topics (optimize video recommendations, build low‑latency rendering systems, and develop responsive, modern CX).
A Day in the Life
You will work with a cross‑disciplinary team to design and implement video experiences. Self‑driven engineers enjoy the autonomy to impact millions of customers regularly.
Basic Qualifications
- 4+ years of professional front‑end, web or mobile software development using JavaScript, HTML and CSS.
- 5+ years of front‑end development creating prototypes or wire‑frames for enterprise web applications or workflows.
- Experience developing with MVC/MVVM frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, Vue).
Preferred Qualifications
- Knowledge of web services technologies such as SOAP, HTTP, WSDL, XSD, and REST.
- Experience with a broad range of software design approaches and common UX patterns.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $136,700/year in our lowest geographic market up to $261,500/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job‑related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign‑on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
