Are you a strategic thinker, passionate about tourism, and ready to shape the future of one of Americas most iconic travel brands? The Virginia Tourism Corporation (VTC) is looking for a dynamic, collaborative, and visionary Vice President of Partnership Marketing to join our leadership team and help drive the future of tourism across the Commonwealth. In this high-impact role, you will champion cooperative marketing, industry grant programs, tourism product development, and community-driven, strategic planning across Virginia. Your leadership will ensure implementation of the 2026 Statewide Tourism Plan, a transformative roadmap built by and for over 1,000 industry stakeholders. In addition, this Leadership Role occasionally requires presentations to Members of Virginias General Assembly, the Governors office, Secretary and Deputy Secretary of Commerce and Trade, VTC Board of Directors, Elected and Appointed Government Officials as well as speaking at industry conferences and seminars. Key Responsibilities: Strategic Tourism Planning: Guide communities in creating tourism strategies that boost competitiveness and regional identity Lead implementation of the new Statewide Tourism Plan (STP), while supporting the successful DRIVE Tourism Initiative with workshops and grants annually Product Development & Vibrant Community Growth: Work with Partnership Marketings Destination Development Managers and industry partners to develop compelling visitors experiences throughout regions that have limited resources but high potential for tourism development Collaborate with VTC Business Development Director to grow Tourism Improvement Districts and Tourism Zones across the Commonwealth. Work with the Director on execution of Tourism Development Financing Program opportunities Facilitate best-practice benchmarking trips with tourism leaders Cooperative Marketing & Grants: Oversee the Director of Marketing Leverage Program, Special Events and Festival Grant, Micro Business Grant and Destination Marketing Grant initiatives Ensure effective distribution and performance of 300+ grants across Virginia Collaborate with over 1,000 partners to promote Virginia tourism effectively Industry Education & Leadership: Strengthen partnerships with VADMO, VRLTA as well as State and Regional Agencies Encourage and promote tourism curriculum in higher education Co-lead programming for the VA-1 Tourism Summit, bringing together best practices, technology, and keynote speakers Participate in National Organizations such as USTA and Destinations International as an active thought leader People & Performance Leader: Lead a team of 14 talented tourism professionals Create a culture of trust, creativity, accountability, and collaboration Ensure alignment with VTCs Operating Philosophy and cross-agency teamwork Job Qualifications: Deep knowledge of tourism marketing strategies and community development Proven success collaborating with industry stakeholders and public/private partners Strong communicator and team builder with sharp organizational skills Ability to act with integrity and work collaboratively with state agencies and communities Position requires frequent overnight travel Experience: 10+ years of leadership in tourism, destination marketing, economic development, or related field Being authorized to work in the U.S. is a precondition of employment.
