Join to apply for the Product Design Lead role at Chime
About The Role
We’re looking for a Product Design Lead to join Chime and help shape simple, human, and engaging experiences that make financial progress accessible to millions. You’ll craft thoughtful, intuitive, and visually polished designs that help members confidently manage their money — and you’ll do it in close partnership with product, engineering, research, and brand.
This role is ideal for a designer who blends strong visual craft with systems thinking — someone who obsesses over details but also knows how to simplify complexity. If you love designing mobile products that are both beautiful and impactful, we’d love to connect.
The base salary offered for this role will range from $176,490 to $245,100, depending on location, skills, and experience. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits.
This role is in San Francisco Monday–Thursday each week.
What You’ll Do
- Design beautiful, intuitive, and accessible product experiences that help millions of people make progress with their finances.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with PMs, engineers, researchers, and other designers to bring ideas from concept to launch.
- Create and refine UI components, flows, and interaction patterns that make Chime’s experience cohesive and scalable.
- Use research, data, and experimentation to inform and validate design decisions.
- Contribute to Chime’s design system, maintaining quality, consistency, and evolution across products.
- Champion design craft and quality, elevating standards through critique, collaboration, and mentorship.
- Stay curious and inventive, exploring new interaction models and visual styles that push Chime’s experience forward.
What You’ll Bring
- A portfolio showcasing high-quality, consumer-facing design work across mobile products.
- A proven ability to design and ship simple, elegant, and user-centered experiences at scale.
- Mastery of Figma and a deep understanding of visual hierarchy, layout, typography, and UI patterns.
- A systems-oriented mindset — comfortable designing within and contributing to a shared design language.
- The ability to balance product goals and member needs, turning complex problems into clear, delightful experiences.
- Experience collaborating in fast-paced, cross-functional environments, with strong communication and storytelling skills.
- (For senior-level designers) Experience mentoring peers, influencing product direction, or driving initiatives end-to-end.
