Head Cake Designer/Team Leader
Are you a master cake designer with an artistic eye and a knack for leadership? We're seeking a Head Cake Designer/Team Leader to join a well-established gourmet food and catering company known for crafting exceptional cakes and desserts for weddings, mitzvahs, corporate events, and special celebrations. This is a full-time, on-site position where you'll lead a talented team of bakers and decorators, oversee all aspects of cake design and production, and help shape the creative direction of a respected, high-end bakery operation. You'll work hands-on to design and produce custom cakes and cookies while ensuring the team meets the highest standards of quality, consistency, and artistry. Responsibilities
Lead and manage daily operations in the cake and bakery department. Design, bake, and decorate luxury custom cakes and specialty desserts. Maintain consistency, creativity, and quality across all products. Collaborate with clients and internal teams on design concepts. Supervise production schedules and ensure on-time completion. Train and mentor decorators and bakers to elevate skill and efficiency. Oversee inventory and ensure smooth day-to-day workflow. Qualifications
810 years of professional bakery experience
, ideally in boutique or gourmet environments. Advanced skills in cake decorating and cookie design
buttercream, fondant, custom sculpting. Strong leadership and team management experience. Excellent attention to detail, creativity, and time management. Experience in event or catering bakery settings a plus. Customer service skills with the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. Culinary degree or equivalent hands-on experience preferred. Portfolio required
