Basic Qualifications

• Proposal writing experience for federal solicitations (RFPs, RFIs, etc.) across most mechanisms and proposal structures.
• Solid understanding of the federal proposal acquisition process and FAR/DFARS, evaluation criteria, and narrative responsiveness.
• Proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships on diverse cross‑functional teams, including tight proposal cycle timelines.
• Exceptional written and oral communication skills; meticulous attention to detail and capacity to translate complex ideas into clear, customer‑focused narratives.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to acquire and retain a TS/SCI clearance.

Job Description

The Proposal Writer will apply proven federal proposal writing expertise and strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with technical and proposal teams, drafting compelling, compliant proposals. Leveraging deep knowledge of solicitation documents and customer preferences, the writer enhances narrative responsiveness and helps capture teams translate complex ideas into persuasive messaging.

• Co‑author and lead assigned volumes or sections for RFPs, RFIs, and other proposals, providing expert writing support as needed.
• Partner with capture and business development teams to craft compelling narratives that reflect LM’s value propositions and strategic goals.
• Collaborate with the Proposal Operations team to provide seamless, high‑quality proposal support.
• Develop and deliver proposal writing training to proposal teams.
• Support proposal writing tool and process development.

Desired Skills

• Experience in the Aerospace and Defense industry.
• Formal training or certifications in federal proposal writing, capture, or business development (e.g., Shipley).
• Experience using generative AI tools and historical proposal databases to accelerate content creation.
• Background in related proposal development roles, such as Proposal Manager or Capture Manager.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance.
