Troubleshooting & Problem‑Solving – Utilize advanced troubleshooting tools to diagnose and resolve issues with AV systems, addressing both hardware and software concerns. Serve as the go‑to expert for resolving any technical issues that arise during installation or after the system is live.
System Design Redlines – Review and make necessary changes to system designs in the field, including redlining designs and adjusting configurations to meet project requirements and maintain peak performance.
Client Training & Support – Provide on‑site training to clients, ensuring they are confident in operating the AV systems independently. Act as a technical resource, offering ongoing support and troubleshooting guidance, both in person and remotely, as part of Level 2 helpdesk support.
Documentation & Reporting – Maintain detailed documentation for each installation, including system configurations, IP addresses, wiring diagrams, and other technical specifications for client reports and future maintenance.
Collaboration with Engineering Teams – Work closely with engineers, designers, and programmers to ensure seamless project execution. Serve as an extension of the project engineering team in the field.
Qualifications and Experience
Education – High school diploma or equivalent required. College degree in a related field (e.g., Electronics, AV Systems, IT) is a plus.
Experience – At least 3 years of hands‑on experience in the installation, troubleshooting, and commissioning of audio‑visual equipment in a field environment. Experience with AV systems (audio, video, control) is required.
Certifications – CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) required within 6 months of hire. CTS‑I (Certified Technology Specialist – Installation) highly recommended. Additional certifications in Crestron, Biamp, Extron, or other industry technologies are a plus.
Skills & Abilities – In-depth knowledge of AV installation techniques, equipment configuration, and troubleshooting. Strong understanding of AV system design and requirements. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint). Ability to use advanced troubleshooting tools and software.
