AEC Resources, Minneapolis, MN, United States, 55400

Save Job

At this mid-sized Minneapolis design studio, every project is your blank canvas. And this architect will have the opportunity to dream up front end designs.

Now hiring a Design Architect experienced in conceptual thinking, collaboration, and bringing bold ideas to life. In this role, you’ll help define the design vision for a wide range of commercial and civic projects, from community spaces and workplaces to retail, education, and mixed‑use developments.

You’ll not only create the front‑end designs, but you will also be engaged in the full lifecycle of design, from early concept sketches through construction completion, ensuring your creative intent stays intact every step of the way!

Base pay range

$110,000.00/yr - $137,500.00/yr

What You’ll Do

  • Develop conceptual designs that reflect project goals, client identity, and site context.
  • Collaborate with clients during visioning and design workshops to translate ideas into built form.
  • Lead the creative process alongside project teams, providing design direction and detailed input throughout documentation and construction.
  • Partner with technical architects, interior designers, and engineers to ensure design integrity through all phases.
  • Present design concepts to clients, project stakeholders, and review boards.
  • Stay current on design trends, materials, and sustainability strategies that enhance each project’s functionality and aesthetic impact.

Why You’ll Love Working Here

  • Creativity: Freedom to create designs, rather than being handed a design to work with.
  • Variety: Work across sectors such as workplace, civic, education, hospitality, and mixed‑use. No two projects feel the same!
  • Involvement: Stay connected from concept through completion in a mid‑sized firm that values continuity throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Growth: Opportunity to advance in firm leadership and design leadership as the design portfolio continues to expand.

What You Bring

  • Architectural licensure or active pursuit preferred.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture from an accredited program.
  • 10+ years of professional architectural experience with strong design portfolio.
  • Skilled in concept generation, iterative design development, and client communication.
  • Proficiency in Revit, SketchUp, Rhino, or similar design visualization tools.
  • Enthusiasm for teamwork, design discourse, and seeing projects through.

If you’re eager to put your creative stamp on projects and commercial design, we’d love to connect. Submit your portfolio and resume to start the conversation!
