Qualifications

Masters degree required for non-applied lesson courses. Professional industry experience can be considered for applied lesson instructors. Candidates may apply to teach more than one course.

Responsibilities

To serve as an adjunct faculty member for the Music program teaching one or more in-person, undergraduate music courses and/or lessons. See positions below.

  • Instructor of Music Theory: The instructor of music theory will teach Music Theory I during the spring 2026 semester. The course time is Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays 11:25am-12:15pm.

Position Details

Instructors must be able to teach in person. Travel reimbursement is available for instructors traveling from significant distances each way to campus. Faculty are contracted per course each semester. Salary determined by education and experience.

Appointment Date

Fall courses begin August 26, 2025. EMU reserves the right to fill the position at any time or keep the position open.
