Knott's Berry Farm is casting charming and passionate VISUAL ARTISTS who have strong storytelling and show hosting abilities for "Sketch School." Shows will take place for a limited time during Knott's Peanuts Celebration. Artists will teach audiences to draw their favorite Peanuts Characters while utilizing a video projection and narrating the process and drawing techniques. An ideal candidate must be able to confidently display command of both their artistry and their showmanship while communicating clear instructions to audiences of all ages. The company seeks a diverse spectrum of gender identities and ethnic and cultural backgrounds who aim to exceed guest expectations and provide the highest quality of family entertainment.

Please bring a photo, resume, and examples of your artwork. Those participating in the audition will demonstrate their artistry by performing a series of improvised drawing exercises using a felt‑tip permanent marker, as well as their ability to draw well‑known Peanuts characters. Applicants must be available to work all scheduled rehearsal and event dates, including weekends. This role is compensated at a rate of $20.65 per hour.

Responsibilities

  • Using artistic abilities and performance talents to enrich Knott's Berry Farm's atmosphere for guests
  • Working as a member of a team to achieve overall atmosphere and goals set by Entertainment leadership and show directors
  • Consistently performing the role as scripted and/or conceived
  • Providing guest service according to Six Flags standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions, and giving accurate directions
  • Maintaining cleanliness and safety in the assigned work area and performing all duties in compliance with Six Flags Safety guidelines and requirements, and reporting all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision
  • Meeting scheduling availability requirements that include nights, weekends, and holidays
  • Fulfilling attendance requirements as outlined in the Six Flags attendance policy
  • Adhering to Six Flags Rules of Conduct, including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures
  • Performing other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Availability to work all assigned rehearsal and event dates, including weekday, weekend, night, and holiday shifts
  • Art (pencil) experience (required)
  • Emcee/Host experience (preferred)
  • Ability to pass a background check if 18 years of age or older, which may include, but is not limited to, credit, criminal, and DMV records
  • Ability to provide records of previous employment, education, and personal references per company policy, unless prohibited by federal, state, or provincial law
