Job Description Summary
As part of the Science and Technology Organization at GE Healthcare, you will help shape digital healthcare by designing intuitive, user‑centered systems that power the next generation of clinical and operational applications.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Use participatory design activities (e.g., paper prototype co‑creation, card sorting) to understand vision, business model, and user needs.
- Translate abstract problems into a roadmap for identifying solutions.
- Capture and validate specific information from stakeholders for acceptance.
- Conduct user research to understand user needs, mental models and working contexts.
- Synthesize research output and create visualizations that summarize key insights.
- Create annotated prototypes or wireframes to communicate the behavior of software applications.
- Lead and influence business‑wide discussions concerning current UX projects and future design direction.
- Develop knowledge of industrial domains, products, key processes, suppliers, customers, and competitors.
- Guide effective documentation and communication of design through wireframes, mockups, prototypes, and user stories.
- Lead research and evaluation of emerging design, technology, industry, and market trends.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Design.
- Minimum 8 years of design experience.
Desired Characteristics
Technical Expertise
- Strong understanding of Agile/Lean UX methodologies.
- Proficiency with design and wireframing tools (Adobe CC, OmniGraffle, Sketch) and prototyping tools (Hype, Adobe Edge, Keynote).
- Ability to use generative techniques (sketching, brainstorming) to explore design decisions.
Business Acumen
- Map industry trends to internal vision and propose suggestions.
- Understand principles of design thinking and its importance.
- Grasp how individual elements fit within larger systems and relationships.
Leadership
- Value rigorous, collaborative, and transparent decision‑making.
- Demonstrate sensitivity to cultural issues.
- Effectively communicate UX concepts and rationale to cross‑functional teams.
- Extract and communicate customer perspectives.
- Make decisions and take actions appropriately when information is incomplete.
We will not sponsor employment visas. For U.S. positions, the pay range is $156,400.00–$234,600.00 annually. Compensation decisions depend on individual factors and may include performance‑based incentives. GE HealthCare offers a competitive benefits package.
