Boston University’s External Affairs division seeks a Senior Producer/Editor to produce high‑visibility video content rooted in solid storytelling. The role reports to the Executive Producer/Creative Director and collaborates with executive‑level leadership to pitch engaging long‑form stories (2.5–7 minutes) for the university’s news and social media channels.
Responsibilities
Produce high‑quality, engaging video content using documentary‑style, character‑first storytelling.
Pitch story ideas that highlight notable achievements among students, staff, faculty, and alumni.
Develop creative solutions for technical issues and optimize production and post‑production workflows.
Navigate interviews with diverse subjects, maintaining professionalism, diplomacy, and discretion.
Execute high‑level video work that explains complex concepts while exercising judgment and discretion.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with 5–8 years of related experience, or Master’s degree with 3–5 years of related experience.
Progressively responsible experience in a professional video editing/producing environment.
Advanced editing experience with non‑linear systems such as Avid.
Documentary‑style video production background strongly preferred.
Exceptional communication skills, the ability to put subjects at ease, and advanced creative direction.
Strong color correction, sound mix, and post‑production skillset.
