About the Firm We are representing two highly technical, design-forward firms: an architecture and development practice and a design-build firm. Both specialize in a combination of hospitality, restaurant, multifamily, civic, religious, industrial, and other commercial projects. One is known for its integrated design-build approach and beautiful execution; the other for its unique architecture/developer-hybrid model. Both are seeking a

DIRECTOR OF DESIGN

to lead architectural design strategy and elevate project excellence across all sectors.

The Role The

DIRECTOR OF DESIGN

will report directly to the Founding Principal and serve as the firm’s creative and technical design lead. This is a executive leadership role requiring both vision and execution, balancing design innovation, growth of people and process, with technical coordination. The ideal candidates brings strong design instincts, Revit proficiency, and a deep understanding of how to guide teams, clients, and consultants through every phase of design.

Commercial development experience is a plus.

Key Responsibilities Lead concept design and architectural direction across diverse project types

Ensure design excellence and technical accuracy from schematic through CDs

Develop and oversee Revit standards, workflows, and coordination

Mentor junior and mid-level architects and designers

Collaborate with clients, consultants, and internal teams to align design and execution

Review and guide drawing sets for code compliance, constructability, and consistency

Represent the firm in presentations, design reviews, and stakeholder meetings

Qualifications 15+ years of experience in architecture with lead design responsibility

Real Estate Development experience a plus

Licensed Architect (RA) required; AIA preferred

Proven Revit leadership, including documentation oversight and team modeling workflows

Strong portfolio of built work across multiple sectors

Bachelor’s or Master’s in Architecture

Excellent communication and client engagement skills

Experience mentoring teams and driving design quality in a fast-paced setting
