Job Overview
We are seeking a creative and detail-oriented Landscape Architect to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and planning landscapes that enhance the aesthetic and functional aspects of outdoor spaces. This role requires a strong understanding of environmental sustainability, horticulture, and urban design principles. You will collaborate with clients, designers, and contractors to bring innovative landscape designs to life.
Duties
Develop landscape design concepts that meet client needs and project specifications.
Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe InDesign, and preferably Lumion to create detailed plans and visualizations.
Conduct site assessments to evaluate existing conditions and determine design opportunities.
Prepare construction documents, including specifications for materials and planting plans.
Provide construction estimating for project budgeting and resource allocation.
Assist in the irrigation planning process to optimize water use in designed landscapes.
Engage with clients throughout the design process to incorporate feedback and make necessary adjustments.
Communicate effectively with clients, providing timely, clear, and professional email responses.
Collaborate with other designers, sharing knowledge and skills to create the best possible designs.
Possess a strong plant knowledge to effectively select materials that align with design vision and sustainability goals.
Experience
A degree in Landscape Architecture or a related field is required.
Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD) and experience with SketchUp 3D are required.
Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite for presentation purposes is preferred.
Knowledge of garden design principles, landscape maintenance practices, and irrigation systems is beneficial.
Experience in construction estimating will be advantageous.
Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members.
Punctual in responding to client emails, ensuring a smooth and efficient workflow.
Familiarity with sales and the ability to proficiently close jobs acquired.
Willing to share knowledge and skills, and eager to learn from others to continuously improve.
