At Amwins, we succeed together — and have a good time doing it. We thrive on collaboration, not cutthroat competition. Our teams work together to help each other succeed, and we do right by our clients so they can do right by theirs. We invest in our employees through education and development programs, competitive benefits, and an employee‑shareholder ownership structure.
Position Summary This role consists of a 24‑month training and development program that will prepare the participant to become a sales professional. The focus of the training program is increasing new submissions, quotes and premium through the promotion of retail web‑based and telephone quoting systems.
Essential Functions
Conduct at least 20 meetings with customers (in person or via video) a week to demonstrate web and phone quoting capabilities and register new users to drive new business submissions in the door.
Weekly reporting of sales meetings that occurred each week and forecasting of meetings scheduled for the upcoming weeks.
Timely follow‑up and continuous communication with customers/prospects to find out and take advantage of additional opportunities.
Systematic prospecting and arranging meetings with potential new customers, and with customers that have not reached their potential.
Identify and establish a relationship with key contacts, ensuring we are doing business with the right people in each retail operation.
Work with the team to review web activity to spot trends, positive and negative, and address these trends immediately.
Establish an active relationship with the Regional Sales Manager and regularly discuss strategy and tactics, including sales issues, travel and follow‑up.
Pursue continuing education and insurance designations/licenses as outlined in the training and development plan (self‑study).
Travel This is not a work‑from‑home position. Candidates are expected to work in the agency. The job does not require overnight travel except for annual training conferences in Pennsylvania. Participants may travel locally to meet with prospects and clients and attend networking events, and they are encouraged to participate in associations and conferences to expand their network and industry knowledge.
Required Education and Experience
College degree OR equivalent business experience preferred but not required.
Strong communication and organizational skills, networking and relationship ability, and ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to remain flexible under the pressure of a heavy workload and critical deadlines.
Open to coaching and continuous improvement.
Candidates will be expected to pursue continuing education and insurance designations/licenses as outlined in the training and development plan (self‑study).
