Development, Communications and Advocacy Coordinator Reports to:

Chief Development Officer

Pay Rate:

$18-$21 Hourly

Schedule:

Monday – Friday: 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.

Our focus is supporting individuals by ways of residential housing, mental health and clinical services, and immersing our participants in community engagement. Working closely with the Office for People with Developmental Disabilities and the Office of Mental Health, we support 27 housing locations and 3 administrative buildings.

About the Role We are looking for a proactive employee to be responsible for Agency communication and marketing, database management, donor solicitation, stewardship and cultivation; and to assist with Agency events and other duties associated with the Development, Advocacy, & Communications Program.

Responsibilities

Maintain and update Agency websites

Produce and Manage content for Agency’s social media, newsletter and website

Photograph Agency activities and events for marketing purposes

Coordinate the printing and design of Agency marketing materials

Manage lists for email communication and solicitation

Keep detailed records regarding donors and their gifts in Agency Raisers Edge NXT database

Enter, and acknowledge, donations received; run associated reports, as requested

Produce, and submit, regular reports to the Chief Development Officer

Reconcile donation data with Finance Department in partnership with Director, Development

Assist the Director, Development, with planning, solicitation and execution of Agency events

Assist with the production of Agency solicitation mailings in conjunction with printers, volunteers, and staff

Produce stewardship mailings

Develop profiles for major gift donors, long term donors, and donor prospects

Assist Board members, executive staff, and volunteers, with donor stewardship

Coordinate the production and distribution of staff business cards

Follow Agency standards and procedures

Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, as well as with company policies

Perform Other Duties as Assigned

Education & Experience Associate’s degree required. Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Outlook. Position requires strong writing skills. Database experience required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge NXT preferred; Raiser’s Edge training will be offered. Experience with Canva and WordPress preferred.

Conditions of Employment Must have a valid NYS Driver License in accordance with the Agency Vehicle and Driving policy and transportation necessary to meet program needs. Must be able to accommodate occasional early morning and evening activities. Must be able to lift and carry 25 pounds. Must be able to perform duties with repetitive motion.
