Job Description As an ICT Designer, you will be primarily responsible for providing data center design services and leading a team of technology engineers. You must have a thorough understanding of data center technology infrastructure design practices and hyper‑scaler standards, and you will liaise with clients, developers, installation contractors, and related trade design team members. You will manage a design team of 3 to 5 technology engineers, meet client expectations, adhere to deadlines, and develop and coordinate appropriate design solutions to ensure successful project delivery.
Responsibilities
Design and implement ICT Data Infrastructure for data center technology projects, including outside/inside fiber plant, data cabling pathways, conveyance, grounding, Wi‑Fi, and related data systems.
Handle projects involving hyper‑scaler single tenant, co‑location, and enterprise data centers ranging from 1 MW to 108 MW and multi‑provider campuses.
Create detailed construction documents, including drawings and specifications.
Conduct design reviews using Revit, Autodesk Construction, BuildingConnected, and Bluebeam Sessions.
Perform on‑site inspections and develop field reports with national travel to project sites within the continental U.S.
Ensure quality control by ensuring compliance with specifications, codes, or customer requirements and coordinating installation, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, documentation, support, or testing activities.
Assist with business development and client outreach events.
Essential Skills
Proficiency in Revit and BIM software.
Experience designing technology systems at a design–engineering firm or data center.
5+ years of ICT design experience, including physical security systems, IT infrastructure, and audio/visual systems.
Experience with field inspection, quality control, and construction documentation.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
Data center experience is highly preferred.
Preferred certifications include RCDD, OSP, PMP, PSP, RTPM, CTS (not required).
Willingness to travel 1–2 times a month, with trips lasting at most 2 nights.
