Two‑Way Radio Hardware Repair Technician
to join our team and contribute to our mission of ensuring reliable communication for critical operations.
Position Overview: The Two‑Way Radio Hardware Repair Technician is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, programming, and maintaining digital communication equipment. This role focuses on troubleshooting and repairing hardware components, replacing faulty parts, programming/configuring, and ensuring the optimal performance of radio systems used in public safety, government, and enterprise applications.
Key responsibilities
Diagnosing and repairing two‑way radios, repeaters, base stations, and related communication equipment.
Troubleshooting RF issues, power supply failures, and circuit board malfunctions.
Performing bench repairs, software updates, and reprogramming of radio equipment.
Conducting routine maintenance and performance testing on communication systems.
Maintaining accurate records of repairs, inventory, and service logs.
Providing technical support and troubleshooting assistance for customers and internal teams.
Preferred Experience
Experience repairing computers, networking hardware, or other digital equipment.
Familiarity with troubleshooting circuit boards, power supplies, and electronic components. Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to diagnose hardware issues efficiently.
Experience with Two‑Way radio systems.
Experience with Multi‑meters, Spectrum analyzers, and Signal generators a plus.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED certificate
1+ year of experience installing digital wireless equipment and/or related technical fields
Microwave and wireless radio frequency experience preferred
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Strong organizational and planning skills, and capable of managing several complex tasks at a time
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills both written & verbal
Strong customer service skills
Must be a team player and accept instruction
Ability and willingness to travel – up to 10%
Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and altitudes
Ability to lift 50 pounds regularly
Ability to work on rooftops two stories and above
Must be able to pass a background check and drug test
Preferred Skills
Must maintain a valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
Must have or be willing to obtain OSHA Construction Industry 10‑Hour DOL Card
Must have or be willing to obtain CPR/First Aid Certification
