Student Assistant - Library Administration
Job Summary: Join the heart of Ingram Library’s operations as a Library Administration Student Assistant. This role offers a unique opportunity to gain professional experience in a dynamic academic environment helping to create a welcoming and engaging library experience for students, faculty, staff, and community members.
Responsibilities
Collaborate with the team to develop, curate and manage engaging content for the library’s social media platforms, update library web pages, and create informational materials such as library info sheets.
May conduct research on marketing and social media trends.
Assist with library events, including designing marketing materials and participating in promotional efforts.
Track and report engagement metrics related to library events and social media activities.
Provide administrative support to the Library’s Administrative Team and library units, including answering phones, assisting visitors, data entry, and filing.
Perform additional duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Enrollment: Current University of West Georgia student enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours each semester.
Academic Excellence: Minimum 3.2 GPA.
Professionalism: Friendly, approachable, and professional demeanor.
Initiative: Self-starter with ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
May sit or stand for periods of time depending on activities.
May be asked to deliver items across campus.
Preferred Qualifications
Public Engagement: Comfortable speaking and engaging with diverse groups of people in informal and formal settings.
Creativity: Ability to generate fresh ideas for events, campaigns, or content.
Campus Involvement: Experience planning or participating in campus events, clubs or student organizations.
