Our main office is in Brooklyn's Dumbo neighborhood in New York City, but the team is remote friendly and spread across the US, Canada and Europe.
The role
We are looking for a Product Designer to join Jumbo's fast-growing team. You will work closely with the product and engineering teams to build the next iterations of the Jumbo app.
At a high-level this role ensures that we are building a product that is easy to use, visually appealing and has a cohesive user experience - it makes Jumbo "look great and work well".
In the role, you own all the designs across iOS, Android, and web platforms as well as some of the visual aspects of the brand. This is a unique opportunity to make an impact: you have ownership on the designs of the entire product lifecycle!
Your Impact
Prototype high-impact features ideas that could transform the future of online privacy and security
Enhance and refine product features through weekly design sprints
Develop and expand Jumbo's product design system
Champion accessibility and inclusivity at the design system level
Define brand guidelines for a variety of branded marketing content
Work closely with PMs, engineers and other partners to ensure a high-quality implementation and delivery of designs
You in a nutshell
You're a Product Design generalist with at least 3 years of design experience in a consumer application or software
You're eager to take on a very "end-to-end" role with ownership of the entire product lifecycle
You're comfortable designing in Figma as well as working with design systems
You’re capable of delivering rapid click-through prototypes that engineers or PMs can understand
You have experience with exporting/animating Lottie animations, and/or illustrating on Illustrator/Figma
You're able to explain your work, process, and defend your decisions while seeking feedback to help produce the best work for the product
You can put yourself in the customer's shoes to reach Jumbo's different types of customers, understanding their problems, and provide them with a positive human experience.
Since we're building an app, any interest or experience in coding will be useful and allow you to understand engineering constraints better
Your receive feedback well and can iterate on designs within a team without being attached to iterations
You're a self-starter who can work independently and proactively to resolve issues, take ownership of tools, processes and reporting
You can polish pixels while balancing business needs and time constraints
You are able to take a step back and bring practical solutions to broad, conceptual ideas
You are open to failure and accept that not all designs will win but you're curious enough to take a leap

Interview Process & What to Expect
Initial Interview
A 15-20 minute call with someone from our People team where you can learn more, ask questions, share highlights from your experience, and see if it is an opportunity that makes sense for you.
An assignment that helps the team understand your thought process and design skills. Once complete, it is reviewed and scored collectively by the team.
A 60–90 minute in-depth interview with the hiring manager discussing your work experience(s) related to design, problem-solving, and strategies.
Focus Interviews
Around 1 -2 interviews with potential peers. During these interviews, you will discuss specific topics and strategies related to the role.
Reference Checks
As a final step, we also conduct reference checks provided by you during your interview process.
