The Osceola Library System has an opening for a part-time Library Associate 2 at its West Osceola Library in Celebration, Florida. The role focuses on overall customer service, assisting patrons at service points, in the stacks, during programs, classes, and outreach activities, maintaining a neat collection, helping with technology questions, and supporting a love of reading and learning. Responsibilities

Provides excellent customer service. Assists patrons with all library transactions—including checking in/out items, processing the transfer of materials from branch to branch, issuing library cards, processing financial transactions, and promoting reading and learning. Provides instruction in the use of the library and its services and resources; connects patrons to services and resources through personal assistance. Supports library programs and events via promotional, marketing, and outreach efforts inside and outside the library. Shelves materials, creates displays, and maintains a tidy and orderly collection. Addresses or escalates patron conduct or safety issues to appropriate management. Knows and understands the American Library Association's Library Bill of Rights, Freedom to Read Statement, and Freedom to View Statement, recognizing that freedom of access is a fundamental tenet of a public library and supports client discretion of materials available at the local library. Follows all legal and policy requirements related to patron privacy and custodianship of patron records. Other duties as assigned. Requirements

High school diploma or GED. Preferred: Two years of library experience. Basic knowledge of library systems and databases preferred. Excellent customer service skills. Comfort with technology, including computers, cell phones, and Microsoft Office Suite. Good communication skills, both written and verbal. Bilingual Spanish/English a plus. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend hours. Physical Requirements

Must frequently move from place to place within the location; file and retrieve books and other items on high shelves. Lift/push up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 35 pounds; work in confined spaces; walk, bend, stoop, reach, and climb. Benefits
