Hiring: Sales & Marketing Associate Boston Food Hub Boston Food Hub Sales & Marketing Associate Job Posting.

Year‑round position; On‑site with potential for hybrid.

Expected Schedule: Average schedule of 20 hours/ week.

The pay range for this position is $22 - $26 per hour and overtime (1.5× hourly rate) is paid for time worked over 40 hours/week.

About Boston Area Gleaners Boston Area Gleaners is a regional food systems organization working at the intersection of farming, food waste, and food security. Our mission is to increase access to fresh fruits and vegetables across our communities while supporting our region’s farms and reducing systemic food waste. We also own and operate Stonefield Farm in Acton, Massachusetts.

The Boston Food Hub Sales & Marketing Associate is a customer‑facing role responsible for providing excellent customer service and ensuring all existing sales opportunities are captured. The role will also support our marketing team by leveraging multiple mediums including digital, print, and social media to continuously engage and effectively share the food hub story and impact to our external community.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

Work with farms, food hubs, farmers markets, grocery outlets, food businesses or similar organizations

Extensive knowledge of local fruit and vegetable varieties

Interest in local and regional food systems

Photography and/or videography experience is a plus

Social media, email marketing & content generation in a professional setting

Ability to follow instructions and to clearly express ideas in a concise and professional manner

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Friendly, approachable, and able to build rapport with customers

A fun, energetic, team‑oriented attitude

Primary Responsibilities Boston Food Hub Sales

Support Boston Food Hub Team with inside sales activities

Proactively reach out to a select group of customers to capture orders and ensure they meet order deadlines

Enter sales orders into Food Hub database and send order confirmations

Field calls, texts and respond to emails from customers in a timely manner

Communicate changes in orders to customers and suggest product substitutions

Support Boston Food Hub Team with independent retail and institutional sales prospecting and new lead generation

Boston Food Hub Communications & Marketing

Work with Boston Food Hub Team and Communications Team to co‑manage Boston Food Hub’s social media accounts

Engage with our social media network and develop our social and online presence

Generate content for Boston Food Hub website, social media platforms, weekly availability email, marketing collateral, and retail point-of-sale material including but not limited to farmer, product, customer, and Boston Food Hub operations content

Manage and organize Boston Food Hub’s database of photos and videos

Coordinate with Operations Team to photograph incoming and outgoing inventory

Visit farmers, customers, and partners to capture content in the field

Attend industry conferences and events
