As a
Nonprofit Salesforce Consultant: Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist , your role will involve close collaboration with clients to offer expert implementation support, optimize systems, and provide ongoing managed services administration. You will lead the configuration and adoption or augmentation of Pardot for nonprofit organizations. This role focuses on design, data structure, integrations, UI/UX and system testing to support client business processes.
This is a part-time contracted 1099 position.
How You’ll Contribute:
Specialize in supporting Salesforce implementation projects through Marketing Cloud Account Engagement configuration
Educate, guide, and empower clients in the Idealist Way
Translate non-profit business requirements into well-architected solutions that best leverage Marketing Cloud Account Engagement functionality, integrations and product ecosystem
Set up, integrate, and customize Marketing Cloud Account Engagement to client specifications
Set up and customize marketing funnels, prospect segments, lead scoring/grading, nurture paths, and reporting, per client specifications
Support the generation and implementation of test strategies to drive and convert qualified traffic
Enhance Marketing Cloud Account Engagement usage through lead qualification and automation of business practice
Balance response times and approvals across multiple assignments
Plan activities from requirements to solution design using prescribed project management tools and delivery methodologies to ensure continuity in communication and project quality
Escalate client or consultant capacity concerns to Client Success for resolution support
Successfully build and nurture long‑term client relationships
Design and implement Salesforce solutions, to meet client needs, identify opportunities for business process and system alignment and optimization
Facilitate discovery, through user story collection, grooming, and prioritization
Customization of new fields, objects, page layouts, workflow rules, list views, etc.
Customization with Salesforce native objects such as campaigns, email templates, etc.
Customization of user administration including user setup, permissions, sharing rules, etc.
Fundamental AppExchange application installation
Support basic data migration within the data management capabilities of the Salesforce.com platform
Fundamental data migration within the data management capabilities of the Salesforce.com platform
Data hygiene upkeep including de‑duplication, owner changes, address validation, etc.
Report and dashboard development within Salesforce native functionality
Familiarity with native integrations and the options available to deploy connectors and manage those processes
Favor declarative functionality and architectural cohesion when solving assigned user stories
Ensure quality design through validation and user acceptance testing
Maintain baseline data integrity, hygiene, and security
Provide documentation to support project team cohesion as well as client understanding and ownership of their system
Facilitate the selection and implement third‑party solutions and applications as needed
Support ongoing system operations and user enablement
Ability to log a case within the Salesforce platform
Fundamental data entry with detail section and related lists
Fundamental system analysis & project management
Stay up to date on Salesforce best practice, ecosystem trends, and product releases
Advise and train clients on product enhancements, new functionality, and adoption opportunities
Alert Client Success of new opportunities
Provide training and documentation for new and existing users
User training within Salesforce standard functionality
Your Background Includes:
Baseline Expectation:
3+ years Salesforce administration with strong declarative design skills and the ability to deliver customer‑driven solutions
3+ years Marketing Cloud Account Engagement administration or consulting
Marketing Cloud Account Engagement Specialist and Consultant certifications strongly preferred
Demonstrated expertise in handling complex and customized Marketing Cloud Account Engagement implementations for nonprofits
Experience with UI related to Marketing Cloud Account Engagement and an advanced knowledge of flows
Familiarity with nonprofit marketing strategy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills including the ability to translate technical concepts to a non‑technical audience
Ability to engage in multiple projects at one time
Creative and analytical thinking with a passion for solving customer problems with software solutions
Familiarity with project management technology
Familiarity with Salesforce for the nonprofit sector and unique needs of nonprofits using Salesforce preferred
Extra Credit:
Multiple Salesforce certifications, including Salesforce Certified Nonprofit Cloud Consultant (NPC)
Familiarity with PROSCI and ADKAR
Contractor hourly rates are set based on experience, certifications, and specialization. Idealist Consulting reviews all contractor rate bands at least once annually. Independent contractors define their own availability and capacity. Contractors are not employees of Idealist Consulting and are therefore not eligible for benefits such as healthcare coverage and paid time off. Independent contractors are required to carry their own professional liability insurance policy.
