Job Summary The Cincinnati Reds are seeking a passionate and driven Photography Assistant to help capture the energy, emotion and unforgettable moments of the 2026 baseball season. This seasonal role is ideal for an emerging sports photographer eager to develop their skills in a fast‑paced, professional environment. If you love working behind the lens, telling great stories through images and want to be a part of the action at Great American Ball Park, we’d love to have you on our team.
This role will provide support to the Team Photographer, as well as the Communications & Marketing and Ticketing & Revenue departments, with a primary focus on photography, photo editing, and cataloging. Additionally, assist the Creative Services, Social Media, and Content teams by fulfilling their requests. Employees are expected to follow all Cincinnati Reds policies and procedures, serve as positive role models, and manage their workload effectively, demonstrating flexibility, prioritizing tasks efficiently, and meeting departmental productivity standards.
Minimum Requirements Education:
College senior working towards a degree in Photography, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field.
Experience photographing baseball
Must possess an excellent portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in sports, event or action photography.
Comfortable in fast‑paced environments with the ability to adapt and problem‑solve.
Creative thinker who brings excitement and energy to each day on the job.
Excellent time management and strong attention to detail.
Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism around major league baseball teams.
Preferred Qualifications Education:
Recent college graduate majoring in Photography, Visual Arts, Communications, or a related field.
Experience photographing baseball at a professional level.
Must possess an excellent portfolio that demonstrates proficiency in sports, event and action photography.
Knowledge of Major League Baseball and the Cincinnati Reds.
Working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, and Photo Mechanic.
Ability to set up and run studio shoots.
Knowledge of photo tagging and cataloging practices to simplify the searchability of digital assets.
Ability to follow detailed requirements and shot lists.
Strong knowledge and familiarity with Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, and other social media platforms.
Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities
Game Day Photography:
Photographing and supplying images from Reds games at Great American Ball Park and events for use on reds.com and social media accounts (25%).
Corporate and Sponsorship Support:
Document ballpark signage, sponsor branding, in‑stadium advertisements and Ticketing & Revenue events (10%).
Photograph activations for Reds Consumer Clubs, Season Ticket Members, and Group & Premium Ticket Sales (5%).
Photo Editing and Archiving:
Edit and prepare images using Photoshop, Lightroom and/or Photo Mechanic (10%).
Upload and catalog images using PhotoShelter (the Reds online photo archiving system) ensuring timely and organized access for the team’s content, marketing and creative departments (10%).
Update the team’s archival photo collection (5%).
Event Photography: Attend and document various non‑game day events, including Reds Community Fund, Reds Hall of Fame & Museum, Reds Front Office and Special Events at Great American Ball Park (5%).
Other duties as assigned (5%).
Reporting Structure This role reports directly to the Director of Public Relations and Photography.
Physical Requirements
Occasionally required to sit.
Use hands, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear.
Lifting/carrying to assist with event preparation up to 30 pounds.
Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
Employee will have “game‑day” responsibilities where the employee may be exposed to weather conditions prevalent at the time.
Remaining work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment.
Additional Details
Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required for games and events.
Team‑provided Sony photography equipment will be available for use.
Approximately 30 hours per week; night/weekend hours will be required.
This is a part‑time, seasonal opportunity and no benefits will be provided.
This position pays $15.00/hour.
