Position Overview Integrated Design is seeking an entry level Lab Planner to join our Science and Technology team. This is an entry- to intermediate-level position designed for a motivated, detail-oriented professional with a background in architecture, engineering, or a related field who is eager to develop specialized expertise in laboratory planning and design.
The Lab Planner I will work under the direct mentorship of senior design leadership, contributing to a range of laboratory and technical projects. This role offers structured, hands‑on training, direct project involvement, and a clear path for advancement within a collaborative and supportive studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
Assist in the development and coordination of laboratory design and planning documents.
Use Revit and other design tools to support lab planning, detailing, and documentation.
Participate in MEP coordination, specification development, and technical reporting.
Conduct site visits for field verification, equipment inventory, and punch list activities.
Support data management and analysis using Excel and Access for lab equipment tracking and space planning.
Contribute to client presentations, reports, and internal communications.
Research laboratory design standards, safety requirements, and emerging technologies.
Qualifications
Education: Associate or technical degree in architecture, engineering, or a related field (engineering emphasis preferred).
Experience: Prior experience in a professional office environment; familiarity with hybrid work and virtual collaboration tools.
Technical Proficiency:
Strong Revit skills (4 out of 5 skill level minimum) required.
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Excel, Access, Word, and PowerPoint expected.
Experience with Photoshop preferred.
Additional skills in Revit Dynamo, VBA, or AutoCAD LISP programming considered a plus.
