Job Summary EMCOR Government Services is seeking an Audio Visual Technician (NARA I) based in Washington, DC. This role provides live event and audio visual technology support services with daily contact with government employees, contractors, researchers, visitors, and other public officials. The position will also support NARA II in College Park, MD as required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provide live event tech support for day and evening events in a range of AV positions: audio mixing and reinforcement, video recording and playback, lighting setup, live streaming, computer presentation.

Conference room setup.

Perform AV equipment inventories.

AV equipment installation and mounting.

Repair and maintenance such as cable termination, filter and lamp changes, cleaning as required by Preventive Maintenance guidelines.

Interface with government staff, dignitaries, and members of the public daily.

Qualifications

Possess a two-year college degree in an audio-visual field or technical certification in AV and/or five years of audiovisual experience from a reputable company.

Specific knowledge of live event production: audio mixing, loudspeaker and camera operation, video switching, lighting, live web streaming, projection, and recording.

Must have specific knowledge of popular video calling web platforms such as, but not limited to: Google Meet, Zoom, WebEx, MS Teams.

Knowledge of signal flow, signal types, ability to troubleshoot, and read system diagrams.

Ability to perform minor repairs and maintenance such as soldering, cable termination, and projector filter and lamp changes.

Must possess outstanding customer service, communication (oral/written), and interpersonal skills.

Basic knowledge of MS Office products.

Flexible time schedule and reliable transportation.

Basic understanding of video editing, film projection a plus.

Physical Demands

Corrected to 20/20 vision.

Must be able to hear audio clearly to perform EQ adjustments and assess loudness of sound sources.

Personnel may work from ladders, scaffolding, and platforms and work with systems and equipment in hard-to-reach places, frequently lifting, carrying, and setting up equipment weighing up to 30 pounds, occasionally up to 50 pounds. Required work is performed indoors and outdoors.

Compensation Range $56,000 - $64,000 annual salary.
