Job Overview
Better Buzz Coffee is growing! We are adding a Social Media & Marketing Coordinator to our Marketing team. The role supports marketing initiatives, creates engaging social content, manages community interactions, and assists with brand‑wide campaigns. It ensures consistent brand representation across channels, supports new store openings, and maintains a strong guest experience through social media, rewards, and email communication.

We roast our own organic, fair‑trade, and rainforest‑certified coffee weekly. We’re serious about quality, connection, and having a blast while doing it. Location & Working Conditions This position is based in San Diego, CA. It is an in‑office position with travel. The role requires nighttime and weekend work to support events and our ever‑changing new store opening calendar. It reports to our Vice President of Marketing.

Responsibilities Social Media & Influencer
Plan, create, and schedule content across social platforms (Instagram, TikTok & LinkedIn)
Support influencer outreach, communication, coordination, and follow‑up.
Responsible for capturing social‑ready content, including photo and video assets.
Social Community Management
Monitor and engage with comments, direct messages, and tagged content.
Manage and amplify user‑generated content aligned with brand standards.
Support real‑time engagement during launches, promotions, and events.
Menu Printing & Content Updates
Coordinate updates for café and drive‑thru menu boards, including design, proofing, and production logistics.
Collaborate with design resources and vendors on menu changes and new product rollouts.
Loyalty & Email Support
Assist with responses to guest inquiries related to our loyalty program, app issues, and other marketing related emails.
Review Management Support
Support monitoring and responding to guest reviews across platforms.
Creative Support
Assist during photo and video shoots (prep, on‑set support, shot lists, etc.).
Help organize and maintain content libraries and asset folders.
New Store Openings & Local Store Marketing
Support marketing efforts and events for new store openings.
Assist with local store marketing initiatives, partnerships, and community events.
Copywriting
Draft copy for emails, digital campaigns, social captions, signage, and other brand communications.
Maintain consistent brand voice across all touch‑points.
Qualifications Experience & Skills
1–3 years of experience in social media, marketing, content creation, or a related field.
Strong understanding of major social platforms and emerging trends.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
Basic photo and video skills (shooting on phone or camera; simple editing preferred).
Experience with community management and brand engagement.
Ability to work quickly, stay organized, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Comfort with fast‑paced environments and adapting to last‑minute changes.
Strong communication and collaboration skills across departments.
Technical Skills (Preferred)
Proficiency with social scheduling tools.
Basic design ability using Canva, Adobe Express, or similar tools.
Familiarity with email marketing platforms and loyalty systems is a plus.
Light photo/video editing experience (CapCut, Lightroom, VSCO, Adobe Premiere Rush, etc.).
Other Requirements
Availability for occasional early mornings, evenings, or weekends for events, shoots, or new store openings.
Reliable transportation to support visits to cafés and local events.
Passion for food, coffee, and creating content that showcases brand personality.
