Position Overview (Job Description) The

Director, Brand Creative Operations

will be a master of their craft with experience leading global creative operations teams to elevate business units and brands. The role serves as the strategic operational partner to three creative vice presidents driving executional excellence for an extensive slate of global creative tools including design guides, packaging guides and retail toolkits across the Universal, Illumination and DreamWorks studios for both our CP and Parks business units. In addition, this role manages key regional projects for the US/CAN market, enterprise creative tools as required by the business and brand projects for the Universal Destinations and Experiences marketing organization. A leader within the Operations team, this role will also drive for efficiency and effectiveness through audits of the team’s workflows and processes and will implement new systems for workflow consistency. The position partners closely with the Operations leadership team and reports to the Vice President, Global Brand Strategy & Design Operations.

Salary range:

$135,000 - $185,000

(bonus and long‑term incentive eligible)

Essential Responsibilities

Ability to understand and articulate creative vision and how it supports business goals

Leads operational strategies, tools and processes that guide the enterprise and ensures exceptional partnership and communication across UP&E’s global businesses

Shapes best‑in‑class culture by promoting innovation, collaboration and problem‑solving through a solution‑oriented approach

Cultivates strong relationships with business leaders and senior executives through open door communication and connecting dots across ideas and businesses to deliver exceptional results

Leads and manages team, providing guidance, support, and mentorship to ensure high performance and professional development

Sets clear goals and objectives for the team, monitors progress, and provides regular feedback and performance evaluations. Identifies areas for improvement and implements strategies to enhance team performance

Fosters a culture of continuous improvement, encouraging innovation, creativity, and efficiency within the team and the organization as a whole

Guides scope and scale of creative deliverables based on global business planning and creative briefs and manages ongoing creative shares for alignment across the global business

Understands studio structure and manages executive approval process for tools developed across all studios. Facilitates meetings to present creative strategy and design aligning to business briefs

Provides timely communication to business partners outlining next steps and timelines to ensure alignment

Understands product development timelines and drives for delivery of required creative assets to meet business needs globally. Partners closely with product operations team

Actively engages in implementation of new project management system, partnering with designated team leads to ensure business needs and objectives are met with the new tool

Develops and manages all department processes and tools and regularly reviews for increased efficiency and effectiveness

Manages global creative budget, flexing as needed to ensure business needs are met

Ensures creative alignment with annual franchise planning process, delivering core guides against bi‑annual development calendar

Owns and updates the Creative Deliverables Handbook for clearly defined scope and timelines

Communicates creative deliverables timing across the organization on a regular cadence

Audits creative tools usage to ensure needs of business are met globally

Partners with Global Asset Production and Global Asset Management teams to manage final review process and on‑time delivery of design guide assets

Develops standard ways of working and best practices for tracking of all projects across the team, including usage of AI, stock photography and talent images

Keeps security of assets top of mind and guides team on usage and distribution

Contributes to the advancement and actualization of Universal’s diversity, equity, and inclusion commitments

Additional duties as needed to meet business needs

Basic Qualifications

8+ years in operations or related field with 5+ years in leadership with multiple direct reports, including identifying and developing talent

Strong MAC skills including highly proficient in Keynote. Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word. Proficient in project management software; knowledge of Workfront preferred.

Knowledge of Acrobat, Photoshop, Illustrator preferred

Prior experience working with “C”-level executives

Experience driving work product of cross‑functional teams

Experienced manager with demonstrated team leadership ability

Effective communication, including speaking, writing and active listening as well as a professional presentation

Ability to juggle long and short‑term deadlines in a dynamic working environment

Stays current with understanding of business/organizational priorities and evolving industry trends

Experience in licensing preferred; understanding of product development cycles desired

Must be willing to work nights and weekends and travel both domestically and internationally

Comfortable in a high‑pressure, fast‑paced environment

Comfortable dealing with people at all levels, and easily collaborates to develop and maintain strong relationships

Eligibility Requirements

Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States

Must be willing to work in Universal City, CA

Desired Characteristics

Bachelor’s degree

PMP Certification

Enthusiastic, energetic and positive when interacting with others

A passion and interest in consumer products, film/content, franchise/marketing strategy and studio process

Additional Requirements

Travel may be required

Perform other related duties as assigned to support the needs of the team

Hybrid:

This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.
