The Retirement Benefit Services Division provides monthly benefit payments that exceed $1 billion. Services include eligibility and calculation of service and disability retirements, pre‑ and post‑retirement survivor benefits, adjustments, and ongoing maintenance of weekly and monthly benefits.
The Division’s Warrant Administration and Direct Authorization Program seeks a Staff Services Manager I to oversee the daily operations of a team of eight members who perform complex analytical duties related to warrant administration. Responsibilities include handling complex Power of Attorney cases, Conservatorships, Guardianships, fraud and unauthorized access issues, and Direct Authorization agreements, all in support of the CalPERS mission. The Manager regularly meets with team members, provides timely feedback, prepares statistical data, identifies trends, and compiles summaries and reports.
