The City of Midwest City is accepting applications for a Communication Specialist I in the Emergency Communications Department. The incumbent receives, analyzes, and dispatches messages to radio‑equipped units of Police, Fire & Ambulance departments and monitors burglar and fire alarms. HS graduate or equivalent required with previous experience in operation of a two‑way radio and computer terminal. OLETS certification preferred. Must pass a data entry test (minimum of 5,500 keystrokes per hour) and an in‑depth background check, polygraph, drug screen, and hearing test. This position is designated as safety/security sensitive and is subject to pre‑employment, reasonable suspicion and random drug and alcohol screening.
