Position Overview As an integral member of a cross‑functional team, collaborate with Project Engineering, Industrial Design, and Factory Engineering to design and develop new fitness products. Perform a variety of technical assignments to support various projects through the Key Technology (KT) and New Product Development (NPD) processes led by a project engineer. Prepare CAD models and drawings for various components and assemblies, with a focus on plastic components. Ensure compliance with product specifications, internal and external standards, and testing requirements. This role offers the opportunity to work on varied, challenging projects across our fitness product lines. This is a non‑supervisory position.

Responsibilities

Work with Project Engineers, Industrial Design, Factory Engineers, and other members of the product development team to translate customer requirements into engineering product specifications.

Frequent communication with North America and Asia‑based project team members to ensure alignment on technical issues and project deliverables.

Create CAD models and drawings for components and assemblies for products from prototype phases through production.

Hold technical design reviews and other engineering meetings to support product development.

Develop and maintain estimated tooling/cost estimates.

Develop and maintain a structured BOM (Bill Of Materials).

Coordinate with factory engineering to ensure the product is manufacturable and meets the costing requirements defined in the product specification.

Determine and maximize container utilization and package size.

Participate in DFMEAs, complete review and analysis of all design proposals to ensure the product meets the design requirements.

Meet all project milestones and deadlines.

Review quality and inspection data, perform product sample reviews and make design decisions, support value‑add / value‑engineer opportunities for cost and manufacturing efficiency.

Support and troubleshoot the introduction of new products into mass production, developing functional requirements and test plans.

Assist Asia‑based engineering and factory manufacturing teams on design requirements.

Other projects as assigned.

Requirements

Two‑year technical degree or equivalent of at least 5 years of experience.

7+ years of mechanical design experience.

Extensive experience designing plastic injection‑molded components.

Experience with components requiring industrial design.

Experience designing consumer products preferred.

Advanced proficiency in 3D CAD (SolidWorks preferred), including surface modeling.

Thorough knowledge of design methods and engineering principles.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work well with numerous diverse groups and individuals.

Ability and desire to mentor less experienced team members.
