Overview The Senior Instructional Designer is the visionary force behind transforming how knowledge is delivered and experienced across the institution. This role combines strategic leadership, pedagogical expertise, and technological innovation to create inclusive, data‑informed learning environments that empower educators and learners to excel.
Responsibilities
Lead the instructional design team, driving the creation of high‑impact, technology‑enhanced learning experiences that integrate AI, adaptive learning, and immersive tools.
Oversee the full course design lifecycle—from needs assessment to quality assurance and evaluation—using Understanding by Design (UbD) principles to align outcomes, assessments, and activities across all modalities.
Ensure accessibility and equity in every course by aligning with Universal Design for Learning (UDL) standards.
Leverage learning analytics, foster continuous innovation, mentor design staff, and collaborate with faculty and leadership to advance a future‑focused, data‑driven, pedagogically sound curriculum.
Qualifications
Master’s degree or Ph.D. in Instructional Design, Educational Technology, Curriculum and Instruction, or a related field.
At least seven years of experience in a senior‑level instructional design role, with a demonstrated ability to lead technology‑driven curriculum projects within higher education or corporate learning environments.
Experience implementing large‑scale e‑learning initiatives and expertise in emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, adaptive learning, virtual reality, or learning experience platforms (LXP).
Strong background in change management and faculty development, particularly with experience applying Understanding by Design (UbD) and Universal Design for Learning (UDL) strategies.
