Our client is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Assistant Designer to support the creation and development of contemporary dress collections. This role is ideal for someone early in their career who is passionate about design, thrives in a collaborative studio setting, and is eager to learn from an experienced team. The Assistant Designer will support both the administrative and creative sides of the design process, helping maintain design documentation, preparing seasonal presentations, organizing materials, assisting with sketching, and supporting cross-functional teams throughout development.
What You’ll Do
- Support the design team with seasonal mockups, fabric swatches, dress forms, and overall studio organization.
- Create and update presentation materials and maintain key documents, including line sheets and merchandising updates.
- Assist with PLM setup, style folders, BOM creation, and image uploads.
- Prepare garments for fittings and presentations, including steaming and occasional hand sewing.
- Sketch seasonal fabric fills and update drawings in Procreate; assist with trend and competitive research.
- Partner with marketing, merchandising, and technical teams to support seasonal workflow and presentation needs.
Qualifications
- 0–3 years of experience in fashion design or product development
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Google Slides
- Experience with PLM is a plus
- Strong sketching skills (Procreate preferred)
- Beginner-level sewing skills
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities
- Team-oriented and collaborative
