Glassware & Media Technician We currently have an opening for a Glassware & Media Technician in Microbiology The Glassware Media Technician is responsible for cleaning and sterilizing laboratory glassware/plasticware/equipment to ensure that the analysis can proceed as necessary. This position will also prepare media and diluents for microbial limit testing. Primary responsibility for the job: Washing and preparing glassware/plasticware/equipment for sterilization. Preparation of media and diluents to be used in Microbial Limit Testing. General laboratory upkeep (eg. Cleaning, Maintenance and Verification of balances, autoclave, oven, Incubators etc). General housekeeping and organization of the laboratory Maintain the inventory of consumables in the lab. Biological Waste disposal as required. The employee shall implement the Laboratory Quality Policy and perform their duties in accordance to existing project specific equipment, current test methods, study plans and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Compliance to Health & Safety policies and procedures and wear Personal Protective equipment at all time in the laboratory. Minimum Qualifications Highschool - applied sciences with focus on laboratory. Experience in a laboratory setting preferred.
