Public Relations Manager
Supporting the Director of Public Relations, the Public Relations Manager will raise positive awareness of TSMC Arizona’s leadership, community contributions, environmental stewardship, and work culture. The role supports storytelling to external audiences through news media, social media, and other external channels. You will respond quickly and professionally to media inquiries, maintain a PR calendar, collaborate with external agencies, refresh media assets, and manage media events. The Manager may also direct public relations activities related to community engagement events.
While this is an individual contributor position, strong collaboration across teams is essential. The role will work with TSMC headquarters public relations, employee communications, government relations, human resources, fab operations, and the TSMC Arizona ESG employee community task force.
Responsibilities
- Support the execution and management of external communication initiatives to build positive awareness of TSMC Arizona.
- Serve as the point of contact for local and national media inquiries, write and distribute press content and pitches, and prepare media responses.
- Arrange and manage logistics for media interviews and spokesperson briefing materials.
- Create monthly/quarterly PR calendars and support the development of annual PR plans.
- Proactively develop story ideas that advance TSMC Arizona’s communication goals.
- Write and manage content for the TSMC Arizona website and TSMC’s social media channels, aligning with company messaging. Set up and manage any new external-facing digital channels.
- Create, curate, and manage content for external use (e.g., fact sheets, one-page summaries, images, graphics, video, infographics).
- Manage external PR/communications agencies/vendors and direct project management of vendor work.
- Partner with Employee Communications on the content calendar to educate employees on external activities; provide content for distribution via email and intranet.
- Partner with HR and workforce development teams on shared programs to promote TSMC Arizona to prospective recruits.
- Serve on the TSMC Arizona ESG Committee and support selected employee volunteer events.
- Support the Director of Public Relations in crisis and issues management; may independently manage crisis response in close alignment with the site crisis response team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or a minimum of 10 years of direct experience in media or public relations.
- Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to craft messages that connect across diverse audiences.
- Experience in crisis and issues communications, including message preparation and media response, and alignment with employee communication.
- Social media content creation and channel management experience is a plus.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to exercise judgment and discretion with confidential and sensitive information.
- Effective interaction with employees at all levels of the organization.
- Quick understanding and communication of complex, technical subject matter.
- Ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with changing priorities and short deadlines.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to project management detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, and internet/social media research.
Working Conditions
- Must remain in a stationary position at a desk for the majority of the time.
- Frequent movement throughout the facility and between departments as part of daily operational tasks.
Work Location
5088 W. Innovation Circle, Phoenix, AZ 85083. Candidates must be willing and able to work on‑site at the Phoenix, Arizona facility.
Standard work hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM or 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM.
