The Role Teachers at The Queen City Academy Charter School advance the school's mission and educational philosophy by planning and facilitating learning activities that promote the intellectual, emotional, physical, and social development of students. Design and implement standards-aligned, engaging art lessons meeting high academic and visual arts standards
Additional responsibilities include: Maintaining high academic, performance, and personal expectations for all students
Differentiating instruction to meet diverse student needs
Using research-based strategies to enhance student retention of concepts
Developing lesson plans aligned with state standards and grade-level outcomes
Planning long- and short-term instructional strategies tailored to individual students
Making content accessible and meaningful
Leveraging technology to foster inquiry, collaboration, and interaction
Ensuring a safe, orderly, and supportive learning environment
Communicating regularly with parents to share progress and gather insights
Developing and utilizing various assessments to measure student progress
Using data to inform instructional decisions
Encouraging students to use data and self-assessment strategies

Qualifications The ideal candidate will hold at least a Bachelor’s degree and appropriate certification. Experience in teaching visual arts and dance as performance art is preferred. All teachers must provide a valid New Jersey Certificate or proof of passing the PRAXIS tests before employment. Candidates should demonstrate cultural sensitivity, effective communication skills, mastery of their subject matter, teamwork, high expectations for students, and an understanding of child development.
