The position is in our Iron Mountain bureau. You’ll live in the Iron Mountain area and work out of the local office. Job Summary
As an Iron Mountain bureau reporter, you will live locally and report on stories that matter to the community for our television newscasts and digital platforms. A multi‑media journalist must be versatile, with strong storytelling skills. You will report enterprise stories from the field, write, edit, and produce stories from idea to on‑air and online, shoot live shots from field locations, contribute story ideas, develop contacts, and post stories to TV6, FOX UP, Facebook, Twitter, and other station platforms. Community involvement is essential.
Responsibilities
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Reporting enterprise stories from the field and producing content for multiple platforms.
Writing, editing, and producing stories from concept to on‑air and online release.
Conducting live shots and explainer segments at field locations.
Contributing story ideas, developing contacts, and staying on top of local news.
Posting stories on TV6, FOX UP, Facebook, Twitter, and other social media channels.
Participating in community events and station functions.
Qualifications / Requirements
Valid driver’s license.
Strong grasp of the English language, spelling, and grammar.
Ability to make personal appearances in the community and station functions.
Versatility in writing, editing, shooting, and producing multimedia content.
