Job Description
Universal Studio Group (USG) is seeking a Vice President, Finance Content Strategy to serve in a leadership position on the Universal Television Entertainment Finance team reporting to the Senior Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis. This role provides unique and integral oversight of USG’s greenlight and ultimates processes that align our leaders for making strategic decisions on new and returning TV series, as well as contributing to the team’s responsibility for overall studio P&L management.
The individual will act as a key liaison between multiple facets of NBCUniversal including Business Affairs, Global TV distribution, TV studios and Streaming (Peacock, NBC Entertainment, Bravo), Creative Development, Production, Participations, and Residuals. This role has high visibility across the studio and will have oversight of a team responsible for financial deal analysis, running complex scenarios, and tracking financial performances.
The role will manage a team of 4 individuals.
Essential Responsibilities
Own all aspects of the studio greenlight process through partnering with internal stakeholders, such as Creative Development, Business Affairs, Global TV Distribution, and Production.
Improve processes for tracking and analyzing key performance metrics versus greenlights and collaborate with internal stakeholders to further drive overall greenlight process.
Oversight of ultimate P&L processes for all series through working closely with internal stakeholders during pacings, month, and quarter end close to ensure accurate financials.
Manage risks and opportunities as well as placeholders on potential new series pick-ups, renewals, and new deal makings to deliver transparent updates to FP&A team and USG leadership.
Responsible for critical close processes for maintaining ultimates updates; work closely with internal stakeholders during month and quarter end close to ensure accurate financials.
Run point on any ad hoc analysis requested by senior leadership.
Effectively manage multiple stakeholders and priorities, and delegate work appropriately to direct reports, leading by example and exhibiting the culture and values of the Universal Television Entertainment Group.
Qualifications Basic Qualifications
BS/BA degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or equivalent practical experience.
Minimum 8+ years of experience in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Minimum 4+ years of experience within the Media or Entertainment industry.
Desired Qualifications
Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
Ability to interface effectively with multiple levels of management and build strong relationships.
Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage multiple projects in a fast‑paced, highly collaborative environment.
Excellent written and oral communication skills.
Advanced analytical skills and the ability to get into the details, while also seeing and understanding the big picture.
Strong interpersonal skills; ability to work and communicate effectively with all levels of finance, operations, and senior management.
Ability to be comfortable dealing with ambiguity, take initiative, and direct work in a fast‑paced and evolving environment.
Strong organization and time management skills; ability to deliver on multiple project assignments, meet tight deadlines and be effective under pressure.
Team Player with ability to function in a cross‑functional environment and willingness to jump into projects to meet department goals.
Additional Requirements
Hybrid
: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.
