Associate Director, Marketing Portfolio Strategy Lead, US Oncology

About the role:

As a member of Takeda Oncology, you will contribute to our mission to cure cancer. In the US Oncology Marketing team, you will report to the Head of US Oncology Marketing, collaborating with key stakeholders across the department.

How You Will Contribute:

Act as a strategic partner to the Head of Marketing, ensuring alignment with US OBU business goals.

Facilitate cross‑functional projects and cross‑organizational initiatives, supporting the brand strategy and identifying portfolio opportunities across brands and functions to realize efficiencies and maximize impact.

Harmonize budget management, promotional spend, and ROI analyses and application.

Drive continuous improvement in marketing practices and strategies, adapting to market changes and customer needs.

Provide the Marketing Leadership team with clear visibility on priorities by tracking milestones, flagging risks early, and sharing insights to focus resources on greatest value and impact.

Demonstrate dynamic leadership with strong emotional intelligence, blending strategic vision, leadership, and operational expertise to guide the team toward continuous improvement.

Minimum Qualifications / Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree required; MBA strongly desired; sales experience a plus.

8+ years of healthcare science related commercial experience.

Proven experience managing complex cross‑functional initiatives in advanced program or project management.

Strategic leadership and decision‑making skills.

Expertise in Launch Excellence and operational excellence approaches (strongly desired).

Outstanding working knowledge of change management principles and performance evaluation processes.

Ability to thrive in a highly dynamic, fast‑paced, continuously changing global environment with minimal oversight.

Analytical, synthesizing data to discover insights that inform strategies and drive decisions.

Excellent communicator, both oral and written, with strong presentation skills and ability to influence without authority.

Collaborative mindset to work across Commercial departments and all levels of the organization.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Project, PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook), CRM, and Veeva systems.

Budget and financial acumen.

Prior experience as a consultant in pharmaceutical/medical device sectors or directly within a commercial pharmaceutical organization, delivering complex projects and impactful results.

Travel Requirements:

Travel up to 10% of the time, including periodic weekend meetings and conferences.

Compensation and Benefits Summary:

Location: Boston, MA

U.S. Base Salary Range: $153,600.00 – $241,340.00

U.S. employees may be eligible for short‑term and long‑term incentives, 401(k) with company match, medical, dental, vision insurance, disability coverage, life insurance, tuition reimbursement, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, well‑being benefits, sick time, and vacation accrual.
