Adjunct positions are filled by semester on an as needed basis. Applicants in this applicant pool are reviewed when the department has an immediate need to fill a vacancy. Review of applications will then stop for the semester once the vacancy has been filled.
Responsibilities Adjunct (part-time) faculty to teach courses in the Art and Design Curriculum: Graphic and Web Design. Responsibilities include teaching Graphic Design and Visual Communication courses including digital media foundations, graphic design, typography, publication design, web design, interaction design (UI/UX), motion graphics and interactive media. Depending on the program’s needs and the candidate’s qualifications, teaching assignments may be on LCC’s downtown campus, at an extension center (within 40 miles of the downtown campus), and/or via online delivery methods. Adjunct faculty are expected to work collaboratively with senior department faculty to develop course content consistent with official course syllabi, to deliver course instruction to students, and to be available for student assistance and advising outside of class. Additional responsibilities may include participation in course assessment, department/program meetings, professional development activities and other duties as assigned.
Regular on campus presence is expected for all LCC employment. Any flexible work schedules and/or hybrid work schedules approved by the College are subject to change based on the needs of the LCC community.
Final candidates will be subject to a criminal background check as part of the employment process.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or higher from a regionally accredited college or university in an art related discipline.
Demonstrated portfolio and/or exhibition reflecting 5 years or more of related work (industry standard).
Significant teaching experience.
Applicants with foreign education credentials must contact a member of the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services (NACES) and request an academic transcript evaluation. The evaluation must be submitted with the application materials. If an educational degree is required for this position, applications lacking these required documents will not be considered.
Preferred Qualifications
Master’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university in an art related discipline.
Web Design Experience.
