Director of Business Development & Strategic Marketing (Finance)
Lead executive education at the Muma College of Business to deliver high‑impact learning experiences for current and emerging leaders. Drive growth, navigate disruption, and accelerate business performance through custom executive programs and industry‑responsive curricula.
Minimum Education & Experience Bachelor’s degree in a related field and seven years of professional experience; or a Master’s degree with five years of professional experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Demonstrated expertise using CRM platforms and analytics tools to manage pipelines and drive business strategy.
Strong negotiation, communication, and executive‑level presentation skills.
Ability to build and maintain high‑impact relationships with corporate leaders, government partners, and community organizations.
Knowledge of executive education, professional development trends, and industry‑responsive training models.
Ability to collaborate across academic, administrative, and external partner groups.
Business Development & External Engagement
Lead corporate, nonprofit, and government partnership development and manage the full business development lifecycle from prospect research through proposal, contracting, delivery, and renewal.
Cultivate, grow, and manage key strategic relationships to generate new business opportunities and custom executive learning engagements.
Conduct market research, competitive analysis, and needs assessments to guide program development and evaluate potential value of new opportunities.
Collaborate with faculty and program designers to create tailored and industry‑responsive learning solutions.
Represent the University at conferences, industry events, and professional forums to promote Executive and Leadership Education programs and elevate USF’s visibility.
Revenue Growth & Strategic Expansion
Build and manage a robust business development pipeline using CRM platforms and performance analytics.
Establish and meet annual revenue targets for custom and open‑enrollment executive education programs.
Identify emerging trends, new industries, and strategic opportunities aligned with the College’s mission and growth strategy.
Develop business development processes, success metrics, and reporting structures that support scalability and accountability.
Partner with University Advancement to identify sponsorships and philanthropic opportunities relevant to executive and leadership education.
Marketing & Strategic Positioning
Collaborate with USF Marketing & Communications to align messaging, campaign strategies, and promotional efforts with Executive Education priorities.
Provide market intelligence, performance data, and audience insights to guide content creation, lead‑generation initiatives, and storytelling efforts.
Ensure alignment with USF brand standards across all externally facing materials, presentations, and communication tools.
Support creation of business development collateral while central MarCom maintains creative control and media relations.
Participate in strategic projects, committees, and college initiatives aligned with advancing Executive & Leadership Education.
