Star Equipment Services is seeking a Shop Manager & Service Writer to join our expanding team. This dual role is perfect for a highly organized and customer-focused individual with a strong background in the equipment, fleet, or automotive industry. You’ll be instrumental in managing our shop operations while also serving as a key point of contact for our clients. What You’ll Do: As our Shop Manager & Service Writer, you’ll be responsible for: Overseeing Shop Operations: This includes coordinating workflow, managing technician schedules, and ensuring efficient and high-quality repairs. Service Writing: Greet clients professionally, open repair orders, and provide regular updates on their equipment’s service status. Invoicing and Purchasing: Handle all invoicing for services rendered and manage purchasing of necessary parts and supplies. Customer Communication: Answer inbound calls in a fast-paced environment, take accurate messages, and assist with past-due collections. Administrative Support: Provide comprehensive administrative support, including scheduling meetings and travel, managing calendars, and assisting with special projects and general office maintenance. Team Leadership: Guide and support our service team to ensure top-tier performance and customer satisfaction. Event Coordination: Coordinate monthly office events. What You’ll Bring: Proven Experience: At least 2 years of administrative/receptionist experience, preferably with a high school degree or GED. Service writing experience is a must, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in the equipment, fleet, or automotive business. Bilingual Proficiency: Fluent verbal Spanish is a MUST to effectively communicate with our diverse clientele. Exceptional Communication Skills: Clear, professional, and courteous communication, both written and verbal. Organizational Prowess: Excellent ability to schedule, organize, and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a dynamic environment.
