Job Description
We’re looking for an emerging journalist who has solid news judgement and is passionate about story telling. This person will be a part of a team that covers big news stories of the day and breaking news coverage. Get in touch if you love to edit video, have experience in making graphics, and can work under a deadline. This position will work a 8am – 4pm ET shift. Creativity and being a team player also a key part of the job. This position is represented by the NewsGuild-CWA.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with Associate Producers and Producers by assisting them in editing video and graphics.
Help research and fact check stories with speed and accuracy.
Pitch smart and engaging stories for daily and future segments that will resonate with our audience.
Keep a constant eye on show rundowns to make sure our video and graphics are in place, accurate and current.
Mine and edit the best video and sound for assigned stories.
Qualifications:
You’ve worked in broadcast, digital or cable, including internships, for at least 2+ years.
You know how to edit video on Avid.
You’ve got an interest and passion for journalism and are up on the latest news across multiple subject areas.
You have a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
You are willing to work in New York, New York.

You are able to handle multiple projects with attention to detail under intense deadline.
You are proactive and able to contribute fresh ideas and perspective to your daily assignments.
You live for the moments when news is breaking and time to air is short.
You thrive working in a collaborative team environment.

Additional Requirements
Hybrid: This position has been designated as hybrid, which currently requires contributing from the office a minimum of three days per week. Beginning January 5, 2026, hybrid employees will be required to work from the office a minimum of four days per week. The Company reserves the right to change in‑office requirements at any time.

Salary range: $28.12/hour - $28.12/hour.
