Intermediate Architectural Designer

About The Role We are seeking a talented Intermediate Architectural Designer with 4–7 years of experience to join our dynamic New York City team. This role offers the opportunity to work on diverse projects, including commercial office interiors, mixed‑use developments, and landlord/building architecture. As an Intermediate Designer, you will collaborate closely with Senior Designers and Project Managers to bring concepts to life—transforming client visions into innovative, functional spaces. You’ll play a key role in design development, space planning, and ensuring design integrity throughout all project phases.
What You’ll Do
Develop creative design concepts aligned with client goals and workplace strategies.
Prepare engaging presentations, mood boards, and visualization materials for client meetings.
Create efficient layouts and test fits that optimize space utilization.
Research and specify furniture, finishes, and equipment that reflect design intent and budget.
Advance concepts into detailed plans, elevations, and material palettes.
Collaborate with technical teams to ensure constructability and code compliance.
Develop millwork details and integrate them into construction documents.
Participate in client meetings, present design solutions, and incorporate feedback.
Coordinate with consultants, vendors, and internal teams to maintain design integrity.
Review shop drawings and assist during construction to uphold design intent.
What You Bring
Bachelor’s degree in architecture.
4–7 years of experience in an architectural design firm.
Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Adobe Creative Suite.
Familiarity with rendering tools such as Enscape or Lumion.
Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
LEED Accreditation.
Architectural license or actively pursuing licensure.
