Office of the President and Office of the Provost/VPAA. Provide communications for Kennesaw State University’s leadership, develop speaking points, scripts, and other messages that reflect the university brand and leadership voice. Work in a fast‑paced environment, collaborate with internal partners, and produce innovative content.

Responsibilities

Identify and write a variety of remarks, talking points, scripts, and communications and briefings for University leadership including the President and Provost.

Research and write clear, interesting, timely and accurate content that reflects the voice of leadership and the University brand.

Meet with leadership and constituencies to understand effective messaging, brand voice, and target audiences.

Interpret creative direction, technical information and/or complex materials and turn them into persuasive, clear and concise concepts for execution.

Drive the creation of original concepts that result in relatable, effective and compelling communication that connects with desired audiences.

Collaborate with Executive Communications Lead, the Chief of Staff to the President and/or Strategic Communications and Marketing colleagues to coordinate concepts and content and present copy concepts and final deliverables to leadership.

Work with leadership to edit and modify copy to meet content expectations and present final deliverables to leadership.

Write, curate content and manage the implementation of monthly executive communication channels, including the President’s Message and the Provost Update.

Be adept at varying the voice, style, and other characteristics of messaging based on the industry, company, or target audience(s).

Stay current and effectively apply appropriate style guidelines and brand voice across markets and audiences, as well as industry trends.

Research and understand stakeholders (through online searches, reviews, interviews with subject‑matter experts, and in‑person meetings); share key critical insights with leadership.

Research and prepare biographic summaries regarding external organizations and constituents.

Write, research and collaborate, as appropriate, on campus news announcements, in support of executive initiatives, updates and special projects or working groups.

As appropriate, collaborate with a team from concept development to delivery of final products.

Cultivate and maintain relationships with KSU faculty, staff and students to support the development of compelling content.

Required Qualifications Education:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution of higher education in a related field.

Experience:

Three (3) years of related marketing and/or communications experience.

Preferred Qualifications

Advanced degree in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications.

Experience in higher education.

Event management experience.

Copywriting experience.

Abilities Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

Able to handle multiple tasks or projects at one time, meeting assigned deadlines; ability to work independently or with a team.

Familiarity with commonly used style guides.

Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem‑solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills.

Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (e.g., Microsoft Office suite, desktop publishing software).

Strong attention to detail and follow‑up skills.

Strong customer service skills and phone and e‑mail etiquette.

Exceptional writing and research skills.

Experience utilizing search engine optimization to maximize research results.

Self‑motivated and organized.
