Digital Content Coordinator Join Citrus County Government to manage the County’s digital content for the website, social media platforms, and other applicable digital platforms. Create, coordinate, and manage digital content to establish and implement a consistent brand identity.

Essential Functions

Manage and create content for social media channels, including graphics, flyers, reels, photos at County meetings and events, and posts on platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Nextdoor, and LinkedIn.

Interact with social media users, representing Citrus County in a professional manner.

Monitor channels, implement social media management tools and analytics to promote best practices.

Train other staff members on social media best practices for engagement and accessibility.

Improve County visual identity and branding by developing design templates for business cards, presentations, stationary, flyers, reports, and more; assist in developing county brand guidelines; implement greater consistency across marketing assets; and brainstorm ideas for campaigns, branding, videos, and graphics.

Serve as webmaster for Citrus County’s main website by updating content for user‑friendliness and compliance with accessibility standards (WCAG/ADA), collaborating with external vendor partners, utilizing analytics to recommend changes that improve user experience, search results, copy, and accessibility, delivering training on website CMS use and web writing best practices, and assisting with document remediation using Commonlook PDF.

Drive and/or operate a county vehicle or equipment and must obey all safety policies, roadway rules, and laws.

Perform other duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

High School diploma or equivalent GED.

Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or a related field OR four (4) years of experience in digital communications, marketing, public information, or a related field OR a comparable amount of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge and skill in the application of social media platforms and using social media as a communication platform.

Working knowledge of website content management, analytics, and best practices and standards.

Strong writing abilities (experience writing for social media and websites preferred).

Experience in graphic design (Canva and Adobe Illustrator preferred).

Adapt quickly to new technologies and changing priorities.

Knowledge of or interest in AV technology.

Travel locally, as needed.

Effective communication (verbally and in writing) with clear, confident manner and proper grammar.

Prioritize and complete assigned responsibilities in a timely manner.

Excellent customer service skills and strong attention to detail.

Analyze and solve problems independently.

Strong organizational skills to plan, prioritize, multi‑task, and independently execute projects/tasks within deadlines while maintaining flexibility.

Maintain courteous and effective relations with County staff, elected officials, community interest groups and the public.

Work after normal business hours (may include nights and/or weekends).

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel).

Certificates and Licenses

Valid Florida Driver License or obtain within 30 days of establishing residency in Florida.

Obtain within 90 days certification in FEMA National Incident Management System (NIMS) courses: IS‑100.c Introduction to the Incident Command System (ICS) and IS‑700.b Introduction to the National Incident Management System.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

Sitting most of the day.

Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally up to 20 pounds.

Frequent balancing.

Typing, operating foot controls/levers, driving automotive equipment, and occasional simple grasping.

Normal visual acuity, depth perception, color vision, hearing, and speaking.

Emergency Response/Recovery Activities

Employees may be required to work before, during, or after an emergency and may be temporarily assigned to duties outside the normal scope of the position to fit the needs of the County and its citizens.

Emergency response duties may also include driving and/or operating a county vehicle or equipment and employees must obey all safety policies, roadway rules, and laws.
